RACHEL - HEADSHOTS IN LEXINGTON, KY

If you've been reading this blog at all, you know that I absolutely love the opera program at UK. Not only do they perform wonderfully.. They send me the absolute BEST headshot clients ever. Rachel is no exception! We met downtown, and we had a wonderful session. She kept saying, "This is the first time I've had headshots, so I don't really know what to do."

Rachel, I think you were joking. You rocked it out!

Rachel, thanks for being such a great client! I can't wait to see you in a UK Opera Theater production.

CLIF & LINDSAY - HEADSHOTS IN LEXINGTON, KY

A little while ago, I shot some quick headshots for Clif & Lindsay in my living room. They were heading to audition as extras for a new movie about Secretariat, and needed a few shots of themselves.

If you know me, you are likely to know Clif. We worked together as graphics designers in college, and now we work together as graphic designers post-college. If you haven't been introduced yet, here he is...

Now that you've met Clif, you should probably be introduced to Lindsay. Lindsay and Clif are an item. Lindsay is gorgeous, adorable, and knows a good joke when she hears it. (Right, Clif?)

I am still absolutely in love with our living room, and the huge, huge windows in it. What do you think?

KARMESHA - HEADSHOTS

If you don't know it by now, I absolutely adore musicians. (Actually, I adore all artists, but I have a special place in my heart for musicians.) I've done a ridiculous amount of headshots for a lot of the students in the opera program at the UK School of Music, and Karmesha is another one of those students. She's going to finish her Master's this Spring, she's in Sigma Alpha Iota, and she's gorgeous. See for yourself:

Karmesha was so wonderful to work with, and we even got a preview of one of her outfits for her Master's recital.

I love this job. Talented + photogenic? I'm majorly jealous.

This weekend, I have a family session scheduled. I'm so excited that the weather is going to rock. It's about time!

THE SHOT

Kevin and I are often caught goofing around on the job. I'm admitting this only because it is the best kind of goofing around I can imagine. Sometimes, when we're waiting around for someone to get to the location or change their outfit, Kevin will say, "Photo challenge!" and we compete to get the best shot of something mundane around us. This week, we had an early morning headshot session downtown. While we were waiting for a wardrobe change, Kevin announced that the photo challenge would be to photograph our own shoes. Between fits of giggles over Kevin's shoe-related comments (ex: "Your shoes look like lovers."), I got this shot:

I don't know if I won the photo challenge, but this one jumped out at me. Plus, it reminded me of my days at Starbucks as a barista... (I used to wear those beat-up Chucks.) I'm not really remembering those days fondly (nasty customers and all that), but I do kind of miss the regulars that came in every morning. I still hold firmly to my belief that every single person should be forced to work in food service for at least a year. (Most people need a taste of their own medicine!)

Stephanie -- headshots

One great headshot session after another. I can not get enough of these opera singers! Seriously, the best models ever. The. End.

This past weekend, I had the pleasure of working with Stephanie. It's getting a little cold for early-morning photoshoots (my favorite), but Stephanie was a great sport. It even started to warm up a little toward the end! Right, Stephanie? ;)

We started off at the Opera House downtown... Could you think of a better place to start with an opera singer?

Oh my gosh, Stephanie has the best smile. She was probably laughing at one of my jokes. Or... The fact that it was freezing and we were still outside doing headshots. Whatever.

The leaves are finally changing! Beautiful!

In my favorite alley off of Mill Street.

In this last picture Stephanie is holding onto a lamp post and leaning back. I had to be sure to warn her that we weren't talking about "Singing in the Rain" kind of leaning..!

Ok, so I thought I was going to get two posts in today... Sorry! Look for Erin's Trash the Dress session tomorrow. I promise!
